How To Turn a Tree into Lumber using a Homemade Alaskan Mill

Here’s David Groth demonstrating a technique for milling a redwood log into slabs of wood with a homemade Alaskan Mill. Very cool and instructional.

If you own woodland or have access to it, being able to make your own lumber and building material will mean a big step up on the self-reliance scale.

What I like about this video is that the interviewer, Julie Joynt, asks basic questions so that a person unfamiliar with milling techniques can learn how to mill slabs of wood with their chainsaw without spending money for additional equipment.
